Ayurveda is a traditional Indian medicine applied and practiced by women for several millennia now.
Ayurveda, this science or knowledge of life, is effective in improving the lifestyle in general, but in particular in the different stages of a woman’s life.
This is the case during the period of conception and the desire for a child for a couple. It is also very useful and effective in case of fertility disorders or difficulty conceiving.
But by what means does Ayurveda yoga manage to boost fertility? For which diet to opt for in summer to promote your fertility? This is what we invite you to discover here.
What impacts fertility in summer
Pitta, the strength of energy and agni (the digestive fire), also controls the female reproductive system.
A good Pitta in sufficient quantity is necessary for conception, but an excess of Pitta and heat in the reproductive tissues can not only prevent the woman from conceiving, but also cause a loss of pregnancy or miscarriage and Pitta-related problems in the unborn child (for example, skin problems).
How to identify an excess of Pitta
- Inflammation
- Redness
- hot flashes
- infections
- skin irritation or rashes
- hyperacidity
- burns,
- repeated loss of pregnancy,
- cystitis
- impatience
- anger
- …
Ayurveda food to promote design
Summer is Pitta’s season, characterized by fire. There is therefore a risk of an excess of Pitta and his qualities. According to Ayurveda, doshas must maintain their balance so that the body and mind are and remain healthy and that the body can be ready to conceive and carry life.
The diet recommended in the Ayurveda universe then consists in balancing the excess of Pitta with “cold quality” foods.
Foods to avoid in summer to boost your fertility
We must avoid excess food that increases Pitta’s warming and penetrating qualities, already widely present on hot summer days. Especially if you present excesses of Pitta. Do not hesitate to consult an Ayurveda advisor or practitioner to guide you.
According to your constitution and the current imbalances, Ayurveda thus recommends avoiding “hot” quality foods such as spices such as ginger, chili, cinnamon, cloves, turmeric,… spicy, salty and acidic foods.
These are also acidic and fermented foods such as tomatoes, vinegar, yogurt, coffee, stimulants and alcohol.
Fertility diet in summer
As a general rule, choose foods and drinks that are naturally sweet, sweet, bitter and/or astringent.
Cold meals with water-soaked food:
- Raw vegetables (cumbers, tomatoes, celery…).
- Cold soups and gazpachos.
- Vegetable juice.
- Fresh and watery fruits (melon, watermelon…).
The summer fertility plate according to Ayurveda
Of course, the fertility base is to be adapted according to the climate, its constitution, its current state, its imbalances…
Your plate will be gourmet, healthy and vitaminized:
- Fruits: apple, avocado, fig, melon, pear, raspberry, strawberry.
- Vegetables: asparagus, beetroot, broccoli, cauliflower, celery, cucumber, lettuce, spinach (raw), summer squash, bean, soy.
- Cereals: white rice, wild or basmati, quinoa, barley, son.
- Nuts: almonds (splished and peeled), coconut.
- Meat: turkey rather than chicken.
